Lake Washington

$250.00

Photo Taken in Seward Park overlooking Lake Washington and Mount Rainier. 2023.

Part of the award winning photo series “What the Earth Knows,” these photos are portraits in negative space of the locations in which the victims of the Green River Killer (Gary Ridgway) were murdered and/or their bodies found. This series promotes awareness of violence against people in the sex trade and the ways in which everyday stigma and discrimination facilitate and excuse violence against people in the sex trade. This series was created based on the photographers’ direct experiences as a former sex worker and sex trafficking survivor. The portraits are not mere landscapes, but the haunting locations in which someone spent their last moments or their body was dropped like garbage. So far the series has shown in London, Tokyo, NYC, L.A., Athens, Greece and will soon be part of a solo exhibition in Paris and a group show in Melbourne, Australia. The series won Laura LeMoon Italy’s prestigious International Prize Leonardo da Vinci - The Universal Artist.
