Justice is Love out Loud: About Laura LeMoon

Love and justice are the reasons for everything I do. From activism, to writing and journalism, to the visual arts. I believe every human being deserves deserves to be treated with dignity and humanity and that we are all inherently worthy of love. Sparking love and igniting justice are my passions for this life.

BIO: Laura LeMoon is a visual artist and writer, as well as a former sex worker and sex trafficking survivor. Her art has been seen in Tokyo, London, NYC, L.A., and Athens, Greece and in December 2025, Melbourne, Australia for a group show. She has her own solo exhibition in Paris in November 2025. She was recently awarded the prestigious International Prize Leonardo da Vinci 2025 from Effetto Arte Fondazione in Italy. Her writing on public health and social justice issues have appeared in such publications as The Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post, The Daily Beast, Seattle Times, The Stranger, Salon, South Seattle Emerald, Bitch Magazine, Insider, and more. She has collaborated as policy advisor on sex work with numerous national and international entities such as the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, United States Department of Justice, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, World Health Organization, United Nations Human Rights Committee, United Nations Human Rights Council, White House Domestic Policy Council, and City of Seattle. 

Laura is committed to fighting injustice and suffering everywhere she goes. She is the 2025 winner of the International Prize Leonardo da Vinci - The Universal Artist, and the International Prize “Artists on the French Riviera,” both in recognition of exceptional artistic merit from Italy’s Effetto Arte Fondazione. She will receive the first prize on June 7th in Milan at the Museum of Science and Technology and has been invited to Nice, France to receive the second award in the Fall.
